Fortune Favours The Brave

The Brief
Design an enterprise, service or product that will spark a surge in courage to benefit the creative industries. Think about what bravery means to the creative industries.

My Idea
My idea was to create a ‘bravery’ book that would be given to creative students at the end of their degree to help them through their next year being in the ‘big wide world’. The book would be like a daily planner but would incorporate activities and sections that would encourage them to be brave and do things they would normally be too afraid to do. The style of the book is designed to look like a scrapbook to give it a rustic and edgy feel and makes the audience feel they can make the book their own.
The Book
The book would start with an introductory page which sums up what the book does and how it will hopefully help them.
The next page would be a ‘brave’ road map which would give them the opportunity to select four challenging and brave things to do across the year. The note pad sections where they would write them down would be a whiteboard material allowing them to change them throughout the year when circumstances may change or they are feeling braver after doing the first few and want to push themselves further.
The third page would be a daily quote of encouragement and motivation to prepare them for the day ahead. There would be a new quote every day of the year.
The following page would be their daily planner which is in a pin board style. On this page they can keep track of their daily schedule and also set themselves a brave task to do each day. E.g. calling up their dream agency or applying for jobs. There would also be a section for them to write in at the end of the day about how they feel the day has gone and if they achieved their brave task.
The last page of the book would be like an overview of their year and would therefore be completed at the end of the year and the end of the book. It would give the audience the opportunity to reflect on the last year and actually see how far they have progressed since the start of the book by filling in the sections provided.
Mock Up’s
Below is the pages mocked up onto a book to help visualise how it would hopefully look.
